UMAYC
UMAYC Young Souls Group provides a safe and sober atmosphere for youth to come wind down after a day at school. UMAYC promotes education and encourages students to stay in school. In the youth room we have computers that have internet access and up to date Microsoft Office to do research and do homework on. Also coming soon we will have a tutor there to assist students with their homework. The youth are requested to participate within the Youth Council to make decisions as to what they would like to see happen in the Young Souls Youth Club. They learn life skills, decision making skills and independence. The UMAYC Youth Group is dedicated to helping the youth understand their cultural identity by having elders involved with the program and taught cultural arts, crafts and stories. With a new UMAYC Coordinator the Youth Group is open to many new possibilities. So watch for upcoming posters or check back here for information on the UMAYC Young Souls Open House. |
